Sports injuries can range from sprains to bone fractures, and generally affect the musculoskeletal system of the body, owing to muscle swelling, tendon injury, ligament tear, rotator cuff injury, etc. Sports injury treatment is generally based on conventional pain-relief medications and surgeries, in severe cases. The issue with the conventional pattern of treatment lies in the inability to treat the injury intrinsically. The pain medications act on the symptoms but do not aid the healing or repair of the injury. Therefore, the clinical community has turned towards regenerative medicine which provides an immense potential to repair and rejuvenate the injured tissue sites, besides working on the symptoms. Garett Richards, after witnessing the potential of regenerative medicine for his ligament injury, said, "I am a believer".
