    Thanks for sharing this! I love that little mini documentary that was on here- I learned the founders of Edmodo were school districtIT guys whose job it was to block sites for their school districts! At night in the basement, they came up with a way to have a secure social learning site so teachers and students didn't have to surrender how they learned at the schoolhouse doors.

  • COPPA is a driver behind many Web 2.0 sites' terms of service requirement that users must be 13 or older to create an account. Yet many educators think it is okay to have elementary school students sign up for Evernote or Instagram or some other app that has great educational potential.
  • One of the main ways to combat this is through education of staff.

    tildee is a site that allows users to create step-by-step tutorials that may include images, videos, maps, and photos. No sign up is required, so both students and teachers could create tutorials. I plan to use this site to create directions for students and teachers to access for technology assistance.
