We can determine whether the printer itself is functioning properly or not by printing a test page using selections on the printer's display menu to do so. The instructions below apply to the public HP4050 and HP4100 printers. (Other printer models may have menu options with slighly different names).

How To Cancel Print Jobs in Queue - 0 views

  •
Generally the crest print job currently printing is the culprit causing the trouble, so try canceling it first if dealing with a departmental printer. However, you may have to eventually delete (purge) all the print jobs in the list to get the printer to print again. HelpLine staff should purge all public print queues to clear out any old abandoned print requests that may still be waiting to print.

Offset Printing | Quality Printing Service Solution - 0 views

  •
Offset printing is a commonly used printing technique where an inked image is transferred from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to paper. Offset printing, or press printing, is a strategy for printing which uses the procedure of actually squeezing and picture or content onto a medium, for example, paper. Typically this is finished by exchanging a picture onto the medium by means of ink from a plate to an elastic cover and after that onto the print media. Offset printing(Multicolor Offset Printers) is the point at which a picture on a plate is "exchanged/offset" onto an elastic chamber which at that point exchanges the picture onto a sheet of paper. It doesn't go straightforwardly to the paper from the plates.

This is a 'must try' iPad app where you can design a 3D creature. Tap, drag and pinch your creation until it is just right and then 'paint' it with the patterns you want. It's a great resource to use alongside creative writing or science work. If you have access to a 3D printer you can even fabricate your design. Overview | fogproject.org - 0 views

  •
FOG is a Linux-based, free and open source computer imaging solution for Windows XP, Vista and 7 that ties together a few open-source tools with a php-based web interface. FOG doesn't use any boot disks, or CDs; everything is done via TFTP and PXE. Also with fog many drivers are built into the kernel, so you don't really need to worry about drivers (unless there isn't a linux kernel driver for it). FOG also supports putting an image that came from a computer with a 80GB partition onto a machine with a 40GB hard drive as long as the data is less than 40GB. Fog also includes a graphical Windows service that is used to change the hostname of the PC, restart the computer if a task is created for it, and auto import hosts into the FOG database. The service also installs printers, and does simple snap-ins.

Watching video from the Apollo space programme one can't help but notice how things have changed since those days in the early 1970s. Banks of small round rectangular screens, dot matrix printers, a myriad of switches and dials each with a specific task to perform and a design aesthetic that says functionality in mild mannered green. What is missing beside the sort of computing power we carry in our pockets today are women. In the 70s science and engineering was what men did and from a quick look at the statistics there continues to be much room for change.
