This websites tells us al little bit more about which are the main causes of the Global Warming.
  • primary way humans cause global warming is by burning fossil fuels.
  • You contribute to global warming:

  • When You Drive or Fly
  • Every time you drive a car, carbon-rich auto exhaust enters the atmosphere.
  • When You Eat Meat and Exotic Foods
  • The food industry, especially the meat industry, is one of the primary sources of greenhouse gases
  • Eating food that is shipped long distances adds to greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Eating beef and drinking milk also adds to greenhouse gases, since cows emit significant amounts of methane
  • One of the best ways to cut your greenhouse gas emissions is by going vegetarian.
  • When You Use Electricity
  • electricity you use is generated from coal-burning power plants.
  • When You Move Into A New Development
  • near the edge of town,
  • move into a new suburban development
  • increasing the profits developers get from cutting down trees and paving over farm land
  • When farms and forests disappear, the land loses the ability to absorb carbon,
  • What You Can Do
  • devastating to humanity and the planet,
  • You can reduce your impact on the climate by greening your transport, eating vegetarian or vegan
  • r going solar.

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth's atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die.

What is global warming? Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth's atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die. What is the greenhouse effect? The greenhouse effect is when the temperature rises because the sun's heat and light is trapped in the earth's atmosphere. This is like when heat is trapped in a car. On a very hot day, the car gets hotter when it is out in the parking lot. This is because the heat and light from the sun can get into the car, by going through the windows, but it can't get back out. This is what the greenhouse effect does to the earth. The heat and light can get through the atmosphere, but it can't get out. As a result, the temperature rises. The squiggle lines coming from the sun are visible light and the lines and arrows inside the car are infrared light.

Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. It's becoming clear that humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years.

The Earth is warming and human activity is a primary cause. To appreciate the urgency of this problem, it's important to understand the ways global warming affects us: putting our food and water supply at risk, endangering our health, jeopardizing our national security, and threatening other basic human needs.

Satellite readings of temperatures in the lower troposphere (an area scientists predict would immediately reflect any global warming) show no warming since readings began 23 years ago. These readings are accurate to within 0.01ºC, and are consistent with data from weather balloons.

The average surface temperature of earth has increased more than 1 degree Fahrenheit since 1900 and the rate of warming has been nearly three times the century-long average since 1970. Almost all experts studying the recent climate history of the earth agree now that human activities, mainly the release of heat-trapping gases from smokestacks, tailpipes, and burning forests, are probably the dominant force driving the trend.

¿Que es el Calentamiento Global y que lo Ocasiona? Global warming is literally an increase in the Earth's average temperature. Global warming is brought about by the accumulation of greenhouse gases, or gases that allow sunlight to enter the Earth but prevent heat from escaping it.
