I have a strong interest in graffiti, particularly within hip-hop, and the messages that are created exhibiting powerful messages, usually from a youth perspective. While looking for a link to some of these images, I came across this article about how Native Americans took over Alcatraz during the late 60's to send a message and they used graffiti as a medium.

Great video about civic engagement. To me, civic engagement means being socially responsible. It means recognizing the communities you are a part of, the needs of those communities, and how you can help. Everyone serves a different role, and everyone can help each other in different roles, strengthening the community's capabilities as a whole.

A theory of change can be a helpful tool  for developing solutions to complex  social problems. At its most basic,  a theory of change explains how a group of early and intermediate accomplishments sets  the stage for producing long-range results. A more complete theory of change articulates the assumptions about the process through which change will occur, and specifies the ways in which all of the required early and intermediate outcomes related to achieving the desired long-term change will be brought about and  documented as they occur.
