After an out of control riot in Keene Nh students come together to help the community out and clean up after the events that occured Saturday.

Trying to receive legal aid for those who are in need.

MIRA, The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition is the largest organization in New England promoting the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees.

With the severe economic downturn happening in Detroit, I found this organization very interesting. It reminded me of the collaboration between the shipyard and the surrounding community of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Instead of being a week-long showcase, Bridging Communities is ongoing and works to improve the lives of the elderly in Southwest Detroit.

Taking on many forms, civic engagement at SMFA permeates faculty curriculum, student initiatives and additional programming. MFA have incorporated art and civic engagement together. They have connected art to important social values in communities that are important to them. They hope that a program like this will gain support and have participants become active in the community. The hopes of a program like this are changing the world in a positive way.

The UMB school is hosting this in Boston Common and looks to be very interesting with speakers on youth and community. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, UMass Boston will briefly return to its downtown roots and take over the Boston Common on October 7. Chancellor J. Keith Motley will kick off the Campus on the Common morning program by leading a procession from the State House to the Boston Common for a Celebration50 ceremony that will include a special music program and remarks by key dignitaries, including Dr. Victoria Reggie Kennedy. The afternoon's events, which include tent talks, an academic showcase, and musical entertainment, are free and open to the public.

this is a program that i have always wanted to join but due to their requirements I wasnt able to. observe the effect of the physical space of learning had on how students viewed their educational experience.
