Project Unbreakable is an incredible use of art and social media to provide an outlet for survivors of sexual assault. Photographer Grace Brown began Project Unbreakable at age 19 in order to bring awareness to the prevalence of sexual assault in the community. It all started here in Massachusetts and is a powerful expression of civic engagement. http://project-unbreakable.org/about/
I happened to be on Facebook and stumbled upon this article. Karrie Brown's story displays the benefits of technology and social media for various civic engagement opportunities. Karrie made her dreams come true with help from social media. Karrie's mother gives back through her nonprofit "Karried Away".
