I read this article in the New York Times the other day about milk and how it might not have the impact on our lives that we all thought that it did. The article states, "More and more evidence is surfacing, however, that milk consumption may not only be unhelpful, it might also be detrimental. This is in spite of the fact that the United States Department of Agriculture and other organizations advocate that even adults should drink at least three cups a day."
We covered this in Media and Society a few weeks ago. I give almond and cashew milk to my son, but I was very surprised to learn about the amount of saturated fat in a glass of milk (one glass= four slices of bacon!!!) We are the only, if not one of the few, species who drink milk from another species...hmmmm. Good post.
