This page contains a link to a recent report called, "Youth Safety on a Living Internet". I didn't read through all the report, but there appeared to be a great deal of information about online safety for kids that pertained to social media.

This is another social networking site for kids. It wasn't on the list for today and I thought I'd mention it as my daughter has been trying this out of late. What's a little different about it is how kids can add friends. Parents have control over who their child can add since its based off the parent's Facebook friends list.

Have any of you tried out diaspora? I just read about this open-source social network and it sounds pretty cool. Will it overtake Facebook? Probably not, but it will be real interesting to see what comes out of it.

This is a tool used to foster group communication. I've used this quite a bit in past MEd classes. It's really easy to setup, but was a little lacking in some of the functionality last time I used it. It worked pretty well for keeping a group organized and fostering communication.

I can cover Wiggio. I've used it a few times and works pretty well for small group interactions.
