Tutorial Information: Tour, About Section, YouTube Videos Possible uses: Take notes in class, calendar, to do list, homework organizer, manage courses, write and save notes, Organize links and contacts, keep a notebook. Basic explanation: Notely gives a student, one place to keep track of all of his or her classes and take notes for each class. It also allows students to interact and post with other students. Positives: Free membership. Helps students get organized efficiently. Negatives: Geared more towards upper level high school and college level students. This program is beneficial for students who are given lap tops, but that is not all schools.

Before beginning the outline there is an option for a tutorial on how to use the outline. Possible uses for students, teachers, and/or administrators: Students can use to take organized notes while reading. It can also be used to help students develop ideas as a prewriting activity. Teacher could use to quickly create notes for students. There is also an option to have an HTML assigned to your outline for Internet access so teacher can make it available to students anywhere. Basics: You begin by entering your name and the topic of you outline. The first time using it watch the tutorial. There are only a few buttons to use while creating your outline so it is very simple. Positives: It would be helpful to a student who gets bogged down by handwriting and outline format when trying to take notes. It is easier to use than formatting bullets on Word. Can be accessed on any computer with Internet connection. Negatives: The help section within the actual outline is not very helpful. It only explained what the tutorial demonstrated.

Teachers can use these workspaces to fit into their curriculum. Students may have the opportunity to collaborate online with their peers instead of in the classroom. Positives: Provide students more opportunities to interact online with peers and their teachers when completing assignments. Librarians may use the program to organize their libraries. Interact with other classrooms. Negatives: Basic edition is free (limited). Classroom edition is $99 per year (20 x the storage). Campus Edition $799 per year (up to 1,000 users).

Possible uses- Students can share information and research topics on this site. Teachers can find resources such as lesson plans on School Tube. Basics - School Tube is similar to YouTube, but safer. This website only allows appropriate materials to be posted so teachers can feel safe about letting their kids view and post videos on School Tube. Positives - The site is a safe place for children and educators to visit. Negatives - There are many videos on the site. Finding an appropriate video might be a challenge for students.

Group 2-Tera Hafermann, Ruth Getchius, April Wenzel, Trish McKane Category: online flashcard maker Grade Level Use: grades 5 and up (though could be used for whole class on IWB for younger grades) Topic/Discipline: any discipline where vocabulary is involved Tutorial Information: A tutorial video is available on YouTube. The URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Diqf0P5dbNQ. Possible Uses: This is a flashcard generator and is used to create or download vocabulary flashcards for studying purposes. Basic Explanation: This site allows students and teachers to create or search for vocabulary flashcards and share them with a study group or class. Flashcards can be downloaded and printed, they can be exported, and they can be shared on Facebook as well as with specific individuals. The site also included games as a way to study vocabulary. Positives: This site allows otherwise disorganized students to organize their vocabulary lists neatly. It allows them to share with a study group and to seek out already created lists and export them to their account. It is free. It is also user friendly. The site was created by a high school student to help him/her study vocabulary. Negatives: The site is not really kid-friendly in the sense that students younger than 5th grade cannot use it easily. The teacher must do most of the work with students in the lower grades.

Basic explanation: Offers creative tools to make unique presentations that can then be sent out to be viewed and reviewed. There is a free 30-day trial, but I did read that it is free for teachers. Positives: Offers more creative ways to present information. Negatives: It costs money. It is geared more towards teachers.

Possible uses: networking, journals, blogs Basic explanation: Give some ideas and discussion topics to help the teacher and parent work together to better the students education. Discuss how the teacher should instruct each level of student. Positives: It has some good ideas for the teacher to better handle and improve parent involvement in the classroom. Negatives: None. It is a good site for discussion about the classroom atmosphere itself instead of what lessons are taught.
