  A new Massachusetts company is launching a device that transforms almost any bicycle into a hybrid vehicle using an application on a multipurpose phone.
  

  The device, called the Copenhagen Wheel is installed as part of the central mechanism of the rear wheel and includes a special computer , batteries and sensors that monitor how hard the rider pedals and activates a built engine when additional power is needed .
