Teen Tech Week is a national initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association aimed at teens, their parents, educators and other concerned adults. The purpose of the initiative is to ensure that teens are competent and ethical users of technologies, especially those that are offered through libraries. Pew Internet Research first surveyed teenagers about their mobile phones in 2004 and results showed that 45% of teens had a cell phone. Since then mobile phone use has climbed steadily among teens to 63% in \n2006 and 71% in 2008.
