This site is worth exploring. A coalition of national organizations, as well as the two consortiums charged with creating CCSS assessments, have partnered together to provide expertise and advice on implementation of the CCSS.

Mastery Connect is a network where teachers can share formative assessments that are tied to common core standards. You get all that for free. The premium version is definitely intriguing, because it allows you to track student mastery of standards in a very easy way. Oh and their common core app is pretty sweet, too.

This post is a terrific example of why I support the Common Core Standards. Collaboration is, without a doubt, a 21st century skill that is critical for us to make sure we're including in K-12 education. The fact that it is woven into the Common Core is HUGE! If you are not following @betamiller (or @edutopia, where he also blogs) on twitter, you should be.

Feeling underprepared for the transition to the Common Core standards? You are not alone. This article shares the stories of some teachers who are worried, to say the least. It also gives an excellent overview of (and links to) some of the resources that different states have created. It also includes a description of how some of the lead writers of the standards are expanding their roles to help schools transition. Overall, this is one of the most thorough articles I've found about the CCSS. If you feel underprepared or under-informed, it's a must-read.

New York City has put together a Common Core Library that features resources that may be helpful for your school or district. The page looks to be in its infancy, so look for it to grow as we move closer to 2014-15. Worth keeping an eye on, for sure.

PARCC is one of two consortia charged with creating Common Core assessments, which will roll out in 2014-15. They have created a survey to get input from educators. Make your voice heard, especially if you are in one of the 24 PARCC states.

Let's bring parents into the conversation about Common Core earlier rather than later. This post serves as a great outline and is written in parent-friendly language. 

This is the kind of thinking that is going to have to take place as we look at the role of technology in the Common Core standards. I guess that I had always thought of Webquests as very "scavenger hunt-like," but this article proposes the opposite...arguing that they can be used to foster critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis skills.

This is a site to watch. They are releasing a series of three papers this spring and they may very well help inform teachers how to create core-aligned, student-centered classrooms. If this is where the Common Core leads us...that's a good thing.
