do we really need bigger phones then what we already have it pointless
  •
the fork looks so damn useless why would we need it?
  •
Who would want to make an electronice fork. You must be REALLY lazy to not know how much food to consume in one eating. People these days.
  •
The fork that told you how fast you ate your food was kind of ridiculous because it doesn't really matter. I would give it on a scale from 1- Bonsack Farms Hoodies. About a 1. Give me points
  •
I dislike the CTA digital ipotty the most. This is SO dumb because I don't even own a ipad how can some three old own an ipad just to go potty with. And look at what you are showing kids to do. Sit on the potty all day and play with electronics. BAD ADVICE
  •
the iPotty sounds pretty stupid. kids dont need to learn to use the bathroom by sitting with an ipad attached to a toilet. if they grow up that way, that's pretty stupid when they get into.. actual bathrooms that don't have provided ipads.
  •
    Electronic forks are pointless.
  •
The 20 inch tablet seems pointless. Nobody has hands big enough to use that.
  •
I think the Virtual wireless keyboard is the worst because it was inaccurate and wouldn't feel natural
  •
because we already have regular forks.
  •
The virtual wireless keyboard is a cool concept but the facts are it is a waste of money. It is not properly calibrated and you at home cant fix it. Just imagine trying to type on something that un-natrual.
  •
I think that spike keyboard is useless because you already have a keyboard on the touch screen. If that IPhone comes with a keyboard like that, Why do you need another one.
  •
I don't really find anything cool about any of these.
  •
Well Mr. Bohnsack, is making me retype this and i belive the ipotty is the worst idea ever. It is wrong, it makes using the restroom more playful, it is not meant to be spending quality time there.
  •
I felt like that fork that tells you that you ate too much or not enough is the worst because the people should have self control. Able to make those decisions for themsevles.

To: Professor@University.edu Subject: Why It's All About Me - 6 views

    1. Do you agree that e-mail has made professors "too accessible," as the article notes? Why or why not? I do agree, because the students are sending the teachers emails about personal stuff. Maybe emailing them certain questions that are meant to be asked other then that, the students shouldn't be sending them 10emails a week about missing class. As it says in the article it makes them feel like they should always be on call. 5. Do you think professors should let students know when they are making poor impressions? Why or why not? Yes, and No.. Yes, because on the professors part they are getting the emails. They dont have to respond but at the same time if a student is asking a question that comes off offensive or wrong to the professor instead of reporting it they should respond to the student and let them know what they are doing wrong. And No, because it isnt there right to make that decision to make that sort of call on whats a poor impression.
  •
i dont agree with the emails being too accessible there are privacy issues and trust probles aswell also i agree with the bad impressions it will help the students

Red Tape - Govt. agencies, colleges demand applicants' Facebook passwords - 10 views

  • job seekers applying to the state's Department of Corrections have been asked during interviews to log into their accounts and let an interviewer watch while the potential employee clicks through wall posts, friends, photos and anything else that might be found behind the privacy wall.
  • schools are requiring them to "friend" a coach or compliance officer,
  • it had reviewed 2,689 applicants via social media, and denied employment to seven because of items found on their pages
  • ...4 more annotations...
  • For student athletes, though, the access isn't voluntary. No access, no sports.
  • the rush to social media monitoring raises an often overlooked legal concern: It's against Facebook's Terms of Service
  • You will not share your password ... let anyone else access your account or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account
  • And the state of Illinois has followed Maryland's lead and is considering similar legislation to ban social media password demands by employers
  •
I believe this is a Con, because they are accepting students based on what they see on there facebook. When in honesty, it could be a really good student. But that's just what they do on there spare time or in the down time. Grades don't necessarily reflect on how they do in school.

Students' text messages used in north suburban drug probe - Chicago Tribune - 14 views

  • theU.S. Supreme Courthas decided that school officials need only "reasonable suspicion" to search students' belongings, a lower standard than the "probable cause" that applies to police.
  • That's perfectly within our rights within the school," he said. "If schools have credible evidence that cellphones are being used in some kind of trafficking … we have every right to take the phones.
  •
I believe that it is wrong for the schools to infiltrate kids phones, and personal life just to find out if they are selling or taking drugs. That's there life, but i understand why there doing it and its to keep the people within in the school safe. As it says in the article "That's perfectly within our rights within the school," he said. "If schools have credible evidence that cellphones are being used in some kind of trafficking … we have every right to take the phones." How do they have credible evidence, this then kind of comes down to stereo-typing students in if they do or don't do drugs. Now is that right?

Student skills: Are we doing enough? | ZDNet - 13 views

  •
I dont think we need a technology requirement to graduate, because most teens are already coming up in the world knowing what Facebook and Twitter are. So making this a requirement would just add more classes to the ones they already have to focus on. Plus, i believe it would get rid of some of the freedom that we have in school, such as the fact we have 2 electives this would get rid of one of them and only leave us with one till at least junior or senior year. But the finance idea, would be nice to learn in school, because most kids go right into debt after graduation.
