A different take on why, perhaps, Gen Y has trouble letting go of their adolescence and pasts well into adulthood.

I don't think I have one guy friend that owns a coach bag, luxury "accessories," or high fashion, but interesting if it's true. Also, where is Gen Y getting their money for these items if we're dumb, can't find jobs, etc.? The article is about projected luxury shopping habits for Gen Y in 2012

It's very interesting that we can be in an economic recession and have luxury sales increases of 33%. This does show where some of this generation puts a higher value to than previous generations!

I liked his dry humor and the fact that he isn't GenY, but points out all the flaws in research conducted against GenY-ers.

Really interesting to see where this originated from and how it has changed for today's generation.

This introduction is very interesting concerning the multiple tragedies that we have lived through and seeing them listed one after another. You don't always think about all the things we have experienced in our life time until you see a list of them all together.

This opinion post looks like a lengthy 'tu quoque' to me. Rather than present data showing how Generation Y is not lazy and entitled, he shifts the blame to previous generations for bringing us up this way. Then he points to their problems (hippie-culture and drug use) in order to label their criticism of Gen Y "hypocritical". Finally he blames capitalism for teaching us to feel entitled and self-centered. Overall, he's not so much making a counter-argument to the claim that Gen Y'ers are lazy, as he is agreeing with it whilst pointing his finger at the older generations and saying they were just as bad.

Jonathan- sorry for replying a lot later. I actually used this article for Project 1 and noted that he used the tu quoque. I agree that he's while he's trying to make some legitimate argument, he never made any sort of statement that made me want to agree with him. Rather, he just keeps complaining about the older generations perception of Gen Y with nothing to back him up.

This graph may be slightly offensive, but I think he is right about most Young voters not knowing how Washington really works. Obama got votes from these young people because he was a fresh and young new face with big plans.

This websites has alot to do about Gen Y and what its all about just incase people want more information on the topics today.
