Technology in Education: Classroom iPads can act as all those-plus as globes, maps and interactive tools. Students can immediately demonstrate their geographic knowledge by pointing to India or France on a map displayed on the interactive touch projector.

It may not be scholarly or well researched but it is a prime example of the ignorance of Gen Y and what our book is talking about

I suppose having a camera shoved in your face could make it harder to think, but I'm amazed by how difficult it was for some of those kids to recollect some pretty well-known facts (mostly regarding the United States). That said, a small sample of students answering a small number of questions on a narrow range of topics is not necessarily an indication of widespread ignorance of general knowledge.

I completely agree with you which is why i said it isn't scholarly or well researched but its definitely not something you see everyday
