My research interest lies mainly in governance, education policy and politics of education. At present, I explore issues relating to increased audit, evaluation and output control in the public sector, primarily within an education policy context. My Postdoctoral Research Fellowship project is financed by the Swedish Research Council (2008-2012) and addresses the Swedish national school inspections. The project aim to describe, analyse and critically examine the tension of simultaneous centralisation and decentralisation in contemporary Swedish education policy by studying the agenda, implementation and effects of the revived national school inspections.
