Applicants with no command of Russian are required to take the college preparatory courses for one year before pursuing major studies. Only after passing the examinations of the college preparatory course can they start their university studies. Scholarship Conditions: The Russian Government provides: Tuition and a basic monthly allowance The South African Government provides: One return airfare; a monthly living allowance equivalent to R7 000 for accommodation, meals, transport and personal expenses; and a once-off settlement allowance equivalent to R4500 Studies must be completed within the duration of the scholarship, as will be specified in the award letter.
