The UK government is considering creating a compulsory medical device register, which could register every implantable device in every patient so that healthcare professionals will be able to tell if a medical device is causing harm to a patient.

Benchmark Brent oil rose by three cents at $62.13 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped 27 cents to $52.45, Reuters reported. Oil prices were further steady over worries about demand due to the slow progress in trade talks between the US and China.
