    A nice way to make presentations with a little zing and zip. Here is a sample of a way to introduce oneself: http://prezi.com/v4jugdsdpc4t/about-carla/. I can imagine these being used by students to get to know their peers--and their teacher at the beginning of the year. There doesn't seem to be a sound feature, however.

    You can put a question up on the website and then students reply with their webcam. It's a nice tool for oral language practice, digital storytelling, debates, etc. R. Stannard shows how to use the tool and suggestions for lesson plans. He notes that you will need a fairly fast internet connection.

As the text-to-speech technology gets better, this is a great solution, and has the advantage of giving students some practice in listening/reading.
