ReadWorks- Helping with reading comprehension - 0 views

  •
The website that I found this week as a useful tool is readworks.org. I believe that this can be very beneficial to any and all teachers. It provides information on reading comprehension and it is all aligned to the Common Core State Standards of all 50 States. It is a free site with a lot of very helpful resources and many teachers encourage the sharing of this particular site. IT helps you to create your own lesson plans from it and provides many non-fiction material that is level appropriate.

In more simpler terms the X variable cannot be repeated in a set of coordinates.  (1,2), (2,8), (4,5), (1,5)  Not a function, because the x-variable is repeated
  • no vertical line would ever cross more than one value
  • crosses more than once
  • ...9 more annotations...
  • it would not be a function
  • the set "X" is called the Domain,
  • the set of elements that get pointed to in Y (the actual values produced by the function) is called the Range.

This is known a Piecewise Function. It's when there are two different pieces of line on a graph, but what makes it a function is that one circle is not colored in meaning that it is not included on that line, while the other dot is colored in and is included as part of that line.
  • A Function Can be in Pieces
  • A function relates an input to an output.
  • "f(x) = ... "
  • can have other names
  • "f of x equals

New Teacher Resources - 0 views

Seems like an awsome sight to help teacher's work through their first year as a teacher. The survival guide part of webpage seems like it would be an awsome thing to read for tips and ideas. It seems to have help for teachers no matter what age group they are working with and might even make things a little easier.

Check out this site! It's an excellent resource site for educators of any age! I've used it throughout my time in a classroom and I'm so thankful that I have this website to use. Each Tab on the left helps you tune in to exactly where you need to go!  The top resource types is very useful as well!  This is a site made by teachers for teachers!  It's excellent!  They have a wide variety of tools for free or you can join and purchase lesson plans and etc.  It's my favorite site so far!
