why embedded queries

Looking for a clear understanding of "embedding" post or profiles.  After a strenuous query, I have decided it offers the same result as going to your page or site and posting a link.  It's really the exact same thing, maybe an easier way of going about it is certain cases...

thinking more about this, and this makes more sense. - the embedded link is likely easier for the host provider & system to process & run than a posted link. What is embedded lessens the impact of what is required to support interactions with the file by embedding the hosting sites "server" with the file posted?  making it something desired more from the providers than the users?

yeah?  maybe - sound good to me.  (like anyone is going to notice a performance difference interfacing profiles pages or videos!)

so there I go - now I at least understand what it does, why? we still don't know?

oh well off to fry bigger fish  ~:-
