Washing machines are one of the most important home appliances in the households and we cannot imagine our life without them. To keep a washing machine up and running as long as possible,  we need to regularly maintain and clean it, and it costs of course not a small amount of money.

Today, I am going to tell you a very cheap and effective method of cleaning a washing machine. This way you will avoid washing machine repair for a quite long time.

The secret is in use of a usual citric acid. On a standard machine, with 3.5 kg load, 60 grams of citric acid is needed. If the capacity of the machine is more, the dosage should be increased. For a 5 kg load washing machine, use 150-200 grams of citric acid. Pour the acid instead of laundry detergent into the dispenser and turn the machine on a complete cycle at a maximum temperature. Citric acid is ideal to cleanse the parts inside the machine.
You will see how much dirt was inside of your machine, while draining water from the washing machine.

The effect of such procedures will be more evident, if you take 1 heaped tbsp. of citric acid and boil water in the kettle, and then cool it.

Personally, I prefer this method of cleaning the washing machine. It's cheap and no chemicals are used. This will help you avoid washing machine repair for a quite long time.
