Pigments are chemical compounds that appear colorful, as they reflect certain wavelengths of visible light. These are widely used in coloring paint, plastic, ink, fabrics, cosmetics, food, and other materials. Pigments can be divided into three basic categories; Chlorophylls, Carotenoids and Phycobilins.
