Free Webcast -- The Air We Breathe
The Aerospace Education Services Project, or AESP, is presenting a free webcast on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. EST. Join Aerospace Education Specialist Lester Morales during this hour-long webcast as he features NASA's education resource book "The Air We Breathe." This book is designed to help students enrich their science vocabulary, better understand Earth's atmosphere and practice the scientific process. The book is a great vocabulary builder for English language learners.
The Aerospace Education Services Project, or AESP, is presenting a free webcast on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. EST. During this hourlong webcast, Stennis Space Center aerospace education specialist Steve Culivan will discuss "mass" and "weight," two terms that differ in meaning and that often are used incorrectly. This webcast will integrate Newton's Laws of Motion and microgravity to explore these two terms and demonstrate their difference by focusing on education video filmed by astronauts on the International Space Station. NASA education resources and inquiry activities, developed from the space station video, will be used in this workshop. Come enjoy this "heavy duty" topic.
In honor of National African American History month, NASA is hosting a
webcast series titled, 'Flying Through African-American History With the
Tuskegee Airmen.' The series will focus on this elite group of
African-American pilots who fought war and racism in World War II. Click

Live Webcast: Saturn Question and Answer Session With Students
Cassini scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California will answer questions about Saturn from students who entered the Cassini Scientist for a Day essay contest.
This live event will air on the "NASAJPL" channel on Ustream ( http://www.ustream.tv/nasajpl2) on Dec. 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST). This one-hour program will be archived for later viewing.
February 16, 2011 3:00 PM-4:00 PM Eastern : In recognition of African American History Month and Engineers Week, Goddard will host live talk show webcasts for students and educators (grades 5-8), featuring African American engineers and scientists. The events will provide the educators with a NASA engineering challenge that they can do in their classrooms.
