This can be considered cleaner than some of the really ugly hacks that you normally face.

I could also add public highlight / annotation (though this one is actually still set as private.) Public notes and highlights can be seen by visitors of the web page if they have Diigo toolbar installed. Thus, Diigo is not only a useful personal tool, but also enables interactions and collaboration among readers of the same web page, right on the page - hence the name "Social Annotation".
