Educreations is one of the top contenders, teachers say, mostly because of its simple user interface and multi-functionality. "I use it when I need to make quick videos in class," said Ramsey Musallam, a high school chemistry teacher in San Francisco. Other features that teachers seem to love: the app offers more than one page for recording; the user can import images from other places and format them easily within the video; there's a text feature so students don't have to contend with messy teacher handwriting, and perhaps best of all, it can be used on desktop computers, not just an iPad.

The most interesting feature to me, however, is the way the tool can alert students of a website's credibility. EasyBib measures credibility through a system of checks based on content, author, links, citations, currency (when it was published), who published it, etc. That information, compounded with data from the current 38 million students using the site right now, makes for fairly accurate recommendations, although some sites (like TNW) aren't used enough for research to have a rating yet.

All of us - adults, teens, and children - enjoy a scary chill:  the anticipation of a creaking door opening in slow motion, waiting for someone - or something - to walk through, and then a wind gust slamming that door shut.  BANG!  What better time of year to indulge in stories that make our spines tingle than Halloween?  So bring them on - ghosts and ghouls, wizards and witches, haunted houses and black magic.

As a PYP ICT Facilitator, I wanted to make the learner Profile and Attitudes more connected to the use of Information and Communication Technology in the classroom.  To do this, I created posters, which are displayed in the computer lab at our Elementary campus.

The poster is an excellent guide for students to help them make the right informed decisions when it comes to photo sharing.

In an effort to compete with the popular Evernote, Google recently unveiled Google Keep, an Android app which allows you to bookmark sites, make notes, record memos, add graphics and color-code notes for sorting. The Android app syncs with your Google Drive account.

Some of his rhymes are here as images. He started from 1, skip counted by 2, and stopped at 11. Simple. For this one, he decided to rhyme with the number. Start with 1, add 2, you get 3. So what rhymes with 3 that makes sense in the context of monkeys, forest etc, and off he went...

Getting kids to really focus on what exactly they are searching for, and then be able to further distill idea into a few key specific search terms is a skill that we must teach students, and we have to do it over and over again. We never question the vital importance of teaching literacy, but we have to be mindful that there are many kinds of "literacies". An ever more important one that ALL teachers need to be aware of is digital literacy. I could go off in many directions on this, but for the purpose of this post I'm focusing strictly on the digital literacy of searching.
