"With little water, scorching temperatures, and not much arable land, the UAE currently imports 80% of its food. Can it go local? In an industrial park built off a highway in the arid land between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, a sprawling new indoor farm will soon grow tomatoes under LED lights in a climate-controlled warehouse near a plastic production facility and other factories. The farm, the first in the world to commercially grow tomatoes solely under artificial light, is one part of a push to transform food production in the United Arab Emirates, where 80% of food is imported. The government realizes that to be resilient, it will need to find new ways to grow food in a desert climate with little rain and temperatures that regularly stay above 100 degrees."

"The development of a European sustainability competence framework is one of the policy actions set out in the European Green Deal as a catalyst to promote learning on environmental sustainability in the European Union. GreenComp identifies a set of sustainability competences to feed into education programmes to help learners develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that promote ways to think, plan and act with empathy, responsibility, and care for our planet and for public health. This work began with a literature review and drew on several consultations with experts and stakeholders working in the field of sustainability education and lifelong learning. The results presented in this report form a framework for learning for environmental sustainability that can be applied in any learning context. The report shares working definitions of sustainability and learning for environmental sustainability that forms the basis for the framework to build consensus and bridge the gap between experts and other stakeholders. GreenComp comprises four interrelated competence areas: 'embodying sustainability values', 'embracing complexity in sustainability', 'envisioning sustainable futures' and 'acting for sustainability'. Each area comprises three competences that are interlinked and equally important. GreenComp is designed to be a non-prescriptive reference for learning schemes fostering sustainability as a competence."

"CoRubrics, an add-on for Google Sheets helps teachers in the assessment process. It is used to assess students (or groups of students) with a rubric designed by the teacher and also allows students to assess other students (coevaluation). CoRubrics automates the entire process. First, teachers design the rubric they want to use in Google Sheets, then they add the students' names and their email address. (These can be imported from Google Classroom). Once this is done, the add-on will: Create a Google Form with the contents of the rubric. Send the form to the students by email or simply provide the link to the teacher. Process the data once the form is filled out (by the students or by the teacher). Finally, send the results to the students (each student receives only their results) with a personalized comment. In addition, CoRubrics allows: Insert comments when answered. Allow Co-evaluation, self-assessment and teacher assessment with one link."

EarthCam es un enorme directorio de webcams repartidas por todo tipo de ubicaciones en distintos países de todo el mundo, un escaparate en Internet para observar otros sitios sin movernos de casa. Este sitio nos permite observar cámaras ubicadas en playas, monumentos, calles, museos y en muchos otros lugares. Muchas de estas webcams emiten en vivo, así que podemos observar en tiempo real. El sitio cuenta con un buscador integrado que nos ayuda a localizar cualquier webcam, podemos buscar por país, ubicación, entorno, etc. También dispone de un menú para filtrar las webcams de acuerdo a su ubicación. Ahora puedes servirte de EarthCam para observar el mundo desde la pantalla de tu PC, un sitio bastante veterano que lleva online desde 1996.

DESARROLLO DE LA DINÁMICA La idea inicial de la actividad nace de otra genial creada y compartida en la red por Estrella López Aguilar y titulada "Yo en 100 palabras". Un comienzo similar con un desenlace diferente. La dinámica se desarrollará en 4 momentos."

"ACNUR ha desarrollado un video juego que permite conocer un poco de la realidad de los refugiados. Contra viento y marea intenta reproducir vivencias y datos de los que viven en la situación de ser expulsados de sus lugares de origen. El tema toma mayor actualidad por los acontecimientos de Siria que han tenido mucha repercusión en los medios. Lo interesante es el aspecto didáctico del juego, lo cual se puede ver en la Guía para profesores que presenta todo un marco para utilizar el juego en las clases. Los contenidos incluyen temas relacionados a los derechos humanos y actividades recomendadas para el aula en cada paso que deben avanzar."
