In Arabic, the term "udhiya" refers to the specific animal slaughtered during Eid ul-Adha. By sacrificing one animal each year, we prove that we are prepared to sacrifice whatever Allah asks of us and that we entirely surrender to Him. This sacrifice is made on behalf of the family leader. It might be a sheep, a goat, a camel's hump, or a cow's hump.
