  The diagonals of a kite are perpendicular to each other, as in other shapes of quadrilaterals such as a square and a rhombus. The central line of the kite(line QS) divides the kite in two congruent halves, creating 3 congruent pairs of triangles in total. This quality is similar to that of a square and a rhombus. A kite is dissimilar to a square or a rhombus, however, in the sense that the pairs of sides are not parallel to each other.
