The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord and serves as the collection point of nerve impulses. The peripheral nervous system includes all nerves not in the brain or spinal cord and connects all parts of the body to the central nervous system. The peripheral (sensory) nervous system receives stimuli, the central nervous system interprets them, and then the peripheral (motor) nervous system initiates responses.

The Brain and the spinal cord is the part of Central Nervous System. It's the collection point of nerve signals. It interprets the stimuli. All the other nerves that isn't in the brain nor the spinal cord connects the limbs and the organs with the central nervous system. It receives and carries the signals throughout the body making the limbs and organs to act.

The central nervous system is involved in voluntary actions, such as talking and sends the nerve impulse through neurones, to the brain.
The peripheral nervous system is involved in reflex actions, such as blinking or breathing and sends the nerve impulse through a relay neurone to the spine and spinal cord, not to the brain.

The Central nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord. The brain is the control center for all activities in the body.It is made of billions of neurons. The spinal cord is made up of bundles of neurons.Sensory neurons send impulse to the brain.
All the nerves outside CNS ( Central Nervous System) that connects the brain and spinal cord to other body parts are part of the Peripheral nervous system. The Peripheral nervous system includes 12 pairs of nerves from your brain called cranial nerves, and 31 pairs of nerves from your spinal cord called Spinal nerves.

The central and peripheral system have a lot in common. They both share the same job of muscle movement. These systems are also connected to each other, sending signals to that part of the brain where it controls everything. However, there are distinct differences between these two systems. One of them would be where these systems are. The central nervous system is located within the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is located in every skeletal muscle in the body. Although both of these systems complete the same task, their role in the process is completely different. The central nervous system is meant to receive and send information. When a person wants to move a skeletal muscle, the motor cortex starts the entire thing off. It sends a signal to the cerebellum and down the spinal cord. From the spinal cord, that is where the peripheral nerves come in. Looking at it simply, the peripheral nervous systems act like a messenger and the central nervous system acts like the strategist.
