It is called hypoxia. Hypoxia is a phenomenon when your tissue cells don't get enough oxygen. You cannot breathe and your heart rate and breathing pattern will change.
Your organs and tissues start suffocating. All organs need air supply to properly function, if there is limited air, you body will not properly function. You may feel extremely dizzy. If you are at a place with little oxygen for a too long, our organs may be damaged. Hypoxia & Hypoxemia
If the amount of carbon dioxide in your body increases and oxygen decreases, your body responses by breathing deeper and more frequent breathing out/exhaling carbon dioxide.
