What is the function of the diaphragm?? What happens to your diaphragm when you breathe in, breathe out?? Why is the diaphragm so important in the process of breathing??

The diaphragm is a muscle you use to breath. When you breath your diaphragm expands, giving you lungs more space to breath. Then contracts are you exhale. The diaphragm is important because if you don't have one, you lungs won't be able to take in oxygen because there is no space for it to go. Also your diaphragm keeps your lungs from your stomach and intestines.

Diaphragm is the large muscle located beneath the lungs .It is for seperating between the respiratory and the digestive system. But it's main function is for respiration. without it we can't breath because it contracts and moves down to make us inhale and goes upward and expands to make us exhale. The reason why diaphragm is so important in the process of breathing is because it creates a air pressure in our lungs. This condition makes the air come and escape from our lungs so without diaphragm our breathing cannot function properly.

The contraction and the expansion of diaphragm helps determines how much air goes into your lungs. When you breathe in, your diaphragm contracts and moves downwards. However when you breathe out, your diaphragm relaxes and moves upwards. The diaphragm is necessary in the act of breathing because it controls how much you breathe in and how much you breathe out.
