Like many, i?m looking for ways to make my site run faster as load times can be a little poor at times, which shamefully lets a great product down.

Hostgator has introduced webhosting speed test widget for checking the speed of websites hosted with hostgator. Your site visitors can rate how fast your site loads on a scale of 1 to 5.

I tried a simple file based caching for a section of my site and the response time reduced to half. So I have decided to implement caching for my entire site.
