TED: Ideas worth spreading - 1 views

  •
TED is chock full of amazing content from the world of thinking, making, creating, innovating, etc.   Most folks know about it by now, so why include it?  TED-Ed for one, but for two, it is transformative for enabling customized delivery of the content with piles of UDL features.  It's just awesome.

Customized news feed that is more visual than text. I cannot stand RSS feeds -- this, however, makes me crave more news.  Similar to Flipboard, but less ornery on my classic Android Incredible v1.0

Might very well be my favorite place on the internet, even though I don't go there as often as I would like. It is a rabbit hole.   It will consume me if I don't tread lightly.

The Birth Of A Tool. Part I. Axe Making (by John Neeman) on Vimeo - 0 views

These folks make hand crafted tools in Latvia and share their process here.  Makes me want to go out and buy a forge.   What if students created films about process?  What if students created something by hand and documented the creation of it?  What can this get us thinking about problem solving? Project based learning? Entrepreneurship?

A filmmaker's current life in one minute.  Great potential for a project here -- capture your own life in a minute, create a minute in the life of a character, relate a book in a minute -- terrific possibilities

Add a "layer" over videos online to create text bubbles, clipart and even links, RSS animations, or another video.  Think Pop Up video and you've got the basic idea.
