I decided to develop this list to guide other educators and caregivers towards the apps that I have found to be most beneficial, not only at home with my typically developing 7 year old, but also at work with the elementary students on my speech-language caseload. The ranking is in no particular order of preference and some of these were released this year, while others are a couple years old. Quick Artic is a free IPhone application for Speech Language Pathologists which contains 566 images tagged with titles and categorized by "phonemes". The application includes ten most common phonemes in all positions of words. It can be used in speech language therapy or for quick articulation screening This easy to use application features a scoring utility which keeps track of the correct and incorrect answers. Quick Artic automatically calculates the score.

I have had great success with this game with both adults and teens who are experiencing memory loss, difficulty with categorization, describing or recall problems. It is a wonderful game, because it is inexpensive and can easily be changed to fit whatever objectives you may be addressing.
