    "PORTUGAL - The Minister of Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Spatial Planning, said that Portugal can double its aquaculture production by 2015, in order to meet local fish consumption demand which is three times the European average. "The Portuguese fishermen are fishing the same as other Europeans, but the Portuguese consume three times more fish", said the Minister at the opening of the Great Sea Conference, organized by the Daily News. "

    "Stéphane LE FOLL, Ministre de l'Agriculture, de l'Agroalimentaire et de la Forêt participait mercredi 5 et jeudi 6 février à Alger à la réunion des Ministres de l'Agriculture du CIHEAM, organisation rassemblant 13 États membres du pourtour méditerranéen (Albanie, Algérie, Egypte, Espagne, France, Grèce, Italie, Liban, Malte, Maroc, Portugal, Tunisie et Turquie) ainsi que la FAO. Ce déplacement marque l'importance accordée par la France à l'avenir des enjeux agricoles et alimentaires dans le bassin méditerranéen et sa volonté d'agir pour un approfondissement de la coopération régionale dans le domaine. « Le renforcement de la coopération méditerranéenne dans le secteur agricole est un enjeu prioritaire pour la France car c'est un des principaux socles de la stabilité de la région », a déclaré le Ministre, ajoutant que « l'interdépendance des pays méditerranéens en matière agricole et alimentaire, mais aussi les changements globaux tels que la démographie ou l'urbanisation, font de la sécurité alimentaire de la région une responsabilité collective »."
