This is the website that coincides with the Wilkes book Ghosts of Freedom which features photos of Ellis Island's hospital and isolation wards which are now being restored.
This is a great resource to determine what the best light source is for you in a particular situation. This resource (tuts+) is a great resource in-general. I would give a look-see and see what you think.
Felix Nadar lived from 1820-1910. He photographed people and places, primarily in Paris, France. He is well known for his skill as a balloonist and portraitist. He was friends with many eccentric and colorful artists, musicians, and writers of his time. I am most interested in his photos of the catacombs in Paris.
