Soon after Valerie Berry was diagnosed with breast cancer, her thoughts turned to money.
Even with private health insurance covering 80 percent of her costs, the bills soon stacked up. Her out-of-pocket share for the first three months of treatment added up to $8,000.
"It was scary," said Berry, 45, of Chicago, an administrative assistant who was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in April. "It got to the point where I had to stop opening bills because I was getting one every day, sometimes two.

"As a physician, I am constantly asked by patients, friends and family members: "Why does health care cost so much?" The answer is apparently not well known. Long-term health care inflation is driven in large part by new drugs and technologies. Fancy new treatments are expensive! Here is a simple solution. Let's just say no to the ridiculous price of new drugs and technology. If we do, companies will lower the price." Doctor Nick Benton: Corville, Oregon M.D

Introduction
" It was scary," explained Valerie Berry from the http:
articles.chicagotribune.com. " It got to the point where I had to
stop opening bills because I was getting one everyday,
sometimes two. Valerie's breast Cancer was costing her 8,000
dollars for her first three months. There are many incredible
benefits and devastating disadvantages of health care today.
There many peoples perspective that the government officials
must hear. Some people exactly know what is wrong with the
care and they can help make it better. There are also many
disadvantages in it today. The problem is that the government is
offering little benefits that are very exspensive. Finally, there are some
exceptional benefits that come form the health care. One benefit helps
twenty one year olds stay on their parents health plan, keeping the
minor from paying the devastating bills. Health Care ahs struggles yet it
It does have man benefits to enjoy like eating a Big MAC.
Detail 1
People's perspective on the health care needs to be heard and told
to the government. One perspective form people is people believe the
care is poor. When you buy health care, you think you are getting
exceptional benefits. But your are actually not getting great benefits
(said from many people around country). Another perspective from
some people are that they are being cheated. Everyone knows how high
the Health Care prices and people think it is unfair to have such high
costs for such little benefits. " We have no idea what kind of financial
future we have," said Mary Wusterbath of Wake, N.C. " The medical bills
come almost daily. There's never an end," Tom Murphy/ Page 1
http://articles.latimes.com/2008/jul/14/business/fi-lowcaps. This
shows how much the prices of it have expanded how people feel
cheated by the government. I don't feel like the citizens of America are
being cheated but that the government needs to lower the price of the
health care. If it is so expensive, why not offer more benefits with. I also
think doctors are not intentional about not seeing the elderly. I think
they must under stand that they must help every one and not just put
them on home care. That is what I think we should accomplish.
Mainly this country needs to speak and stand up for themselves if they
Feel that they are being cheated or the care is unfair.
Detail 2
There are countless disadvantages to the health care that is very
unacceptable. One disadvantage is the prices of it. Many countrymen are
accepting that health care improvement needs to occur, but a dispute
has happened on how creating a new health care system must more
organized and financed. Many people are saying that the health care
doesn't work because of it is managed by profit driven companies and
also insurance benefits that are mainly tied to a profession. If they don't have the money, people can die! (April 26 2011 paraphrase,
http://www.healthcareproblems.org/). There must be a change in the
prices of it because people can't pay the bills for it. The answer is simple
thanks to Dr. Nick Benton USAtoday.com (2011). He says," As a
physician, I am constantly asked by patients, friends and family members:
"Why does health care cost so much?" The answer is apparently not well
known. Long-term health care inflation is driven in large part by new drugs
and technologies. Fancy new treatments are expensive! Here is a simple
solution. Let's just say no to the ridiculous price of new drugs and
technology. If we do, companies will lower the price." There is solution to
one thing but there is more like doesn't offer great benefits. All the
government has to do is keep the prices the same but offer exceptional
benefits with so it is worth to buy. But on of the worst to me is that some
doctors won't see patients that over the age of 85. They just can't say to
put them on homecare. The doctors must see the patient and find out what
treatment is best for him or her. We have a lot of disadvantages in the
system, but we can fix them all.
Detail 3
With all of the upsets of health care, there have to be some
stupendous assistance to get when looking at health insurance. One
benefit of it is that minors stay on parents health care plan to save them a
lot of valuable money. "Children who are over 21 and may not have a job
that pays their health insurance can still be on your policy," said Borger. "
That's very important." Your equal's parent (http://articles.cnn.com/2010-03-
16/politics/health.care)/ 2011, page 1). That is just one of many benefits
to receive and another one is joining the military. As a health care
professional in the military, you work for your country with an outstanding
duty. The reward for serving is getting many health care benefits to have
(airforce.com/page 3/ present day or when military had health care
benefits). But another benefit is home care. Home care is where the elderly
are sent home form hospital to there own house. The exception is that
they still get the same care from the hospital but they get to receive it at
home. This helps them live a normal life and it is very helpful to people who
are put onto home care. The NAHC and Hospice has revealed that 7.6
million handicap people in the US get home care services from the
government. Multiplies of homecare recipients are as elderly as a monk
that is 85 and up. Most elderly are sent form hospitals to home care to live
normal lives while still getting care. Yet home care is some how defective
with disadvantages (April 2nd 2010 http://www.livestrong.com/article/79680-
home-health-care-advantages page 1). I really don't see how it has any
thing that is a disadvantage to anyone who is on this wonderful health
care. I think that theses benefits are just a start to what are health care will
be like later on in life.
Conclusion
There are many good benefits and disadvantages of the health care
today. One very important thing that I think needs to happen is that the
government hears about the people's perspective. People know
sometimes what must be done and sometimes it can make a huge
difference. Once the government hears there perspectives, maybe the
prices will go down and help boost the economy. Health also has a
countless number of disadvantages with it all. We must lower the prices on
it because some parents can't pay for the bills and can sometimes leads to
a very painful. And also, doctors just can't let the elderly shrivel up and die.
They must help them because that is what a doctor is made for, to help
heal people. But there has to be some awesome benefits in there. Home
care helps the elderly live a norm al life while still getting all the care they
need like in hospital. Also, 21 year olds who don't have a job that supports
their health insurance can stay on their parent's plan. This helps them save
loads of money. All in all, health care today has some disadvantages that
need improvement, but there are still some very exceptional benefits to
make it all worthwhile.
