Cleaning up some misconceptions that have been allowed to gather on atheism, religion, and history. I hope to further illustrate how religion has built walls of falsehoods and half-truths in order to prevent the penetration of morality, logic, evidence, truth, and justice.

I'm not grandstanding, or insulting the faith I grew up in. I've written this to confirm to myself that I'm not alone

It has been shown that a certain level of population control can be achieved with very little effort, if there just is will to tackle the problem. Religious leaders however already bear the main responsibility for the continuing population explosion in the developing world. I fear that the issue cannot be resolved before their power is diminished to an extent where sensible population control policies can be enforced in the poorest countries of the world also. The other option of course is that they change their odd religious dogmas so that these countries can be saved from hunger, poverty and desolation brought about by the uncontrolled rise of population.

For those who believe in a loving and omnipotent God, suffering must be explained in light of God's existence. Why does God, if he loves us, allow or even cause us to suffer? Of course, there are many answers to this troubling question, ranging from the mysteriousness of God's ways to the benefits of suffering upon our souls to the idea that we all deserve much worse than any calamity we could possibly encounter in this world.

I've heard it far too many times, I think, the assertion that to be an atheist a person must first think God is real and then hate, or deny God. By the logic that a person must first believe in something to think it isn't real every fundamentalist Christian believed evolution occurred before they denied it.

Some people in America have a lot of erroneous ideas about what Evolution is. They think it's a religion, an ideology, a moral judgment, or an evil plot to turn them away from God.Well, evolution is none of those things and through this lens I hope to show what evolution isn't and explore why so many conservative Christians have such hatred for that particular scientific theory.

Let's wander off the beaten path a little bit today, shall we? I want to talk about art. Everyone likes art, right? But what is art? I think that's a really great question that can lead us to some wonderful places of discovery.

I can truly recommend this well written and concise book to all those who are interested in the past, present and future of the humanity.

The greatest achievement of modern versions of these three desert-religions is to maintain that the original message of goodness and kindness is still there quite intact and it is still the most important feature of that religion. A true miracle is that this claim can be maintained, even though century after century and generation after generation the leaders of these religions have systematically pushed these principles aside in practice in their endless quest to gain more followers and power and secure the continuation of their religious organization.

Creating sharia courts in Western Europe is not the solution, on the contrary we have a direct need to make the followers of the medieval religious traditions to see that there cannot be two sets of laws enforced in any society simultaneously.

A successful man needs three types of power physical, mental and spiritual. There are lots of ways to get mental and physical power but what about Spiritual power? How one could get spiritual power? Fox's Big Giant Talking Head, Brit Hume, was criticized this week for offering life advice to Tiger Woods. Surely, Tiger could use some good advice (like staying away from nunneries), but Hume's suggestion that Tiger have a "come to Jesus conversion" rankles many people. That seems slightly off base.
