Homosexuality and the Bible - 0 views

Ever get tired of people throwing Bible verses at you, and using religion as an excuse for condemning homosexuality? Well, this is something I came across many years ago, and I still laugh every time I read it. On her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

An American Sharia in Texas? - 0 views

The Bible and 10 Commandments are eloquent, but can't serve in lieu of secular laws. The case of Khristian Oliver, now on Death Row in Texas, is important case. Should the jury should have used the Bible as a basis for determining Oliver's original death sentence?

Pass the Candy and Welcome to the Middle Ages - 0 views

As close as I can figure, it's actually 1009. I know this because people are acting like it's the Middle Ages, Geoffrey Chaucer just joined the NYT as a new columnist, and Pat Robertson is four-square against Halloween candy.

The Christian Right Wing Conservatives are Satan's Beastly army..

History of Satan - future Very soon Satan will be released from the spirit world. He will appear on earth in a glorious, physical body. Then Satan will be called the beast. He will pretend to be God and he will have the appearance of God. The beast is the name for Satan when he comes visibly to the earth claiming that he is God. His demons will come with him and they will appear to be angels from heaven. How long will be beast be on earth? Satan will be given 3 ½ years as the visible god of this world. During this time he will try to convince every person on earth to worship him. Do not be deceived. He is not God and you should not worship him. Who will worship the beast?

Creationism. Intelligent Design. Faith-based this. Trust-your-gut that. There's never been a better time to espouse, profit from, and believe in utter, unadulterated crap. And the crap is rising so high, it's getting dangerous.

The Fall as Fall Guy - 0 views

For those who believe in a loving and omnipotent God, suffering must be explained in light of God's existence. Why does God, if he loves us, allow or even cause us to suffer? Of course, there are many answers to this troubling question, ranging from the mysteriousness of God's ways to the benefits of suffering upon our souls to the idea that we all deserve much worse than any calamity we could possibly encounter in this world.

Your Race Affects Whether People Write You Back « OkTrends - 0 views

  • People of the various Zodiac signs match each other all at roughly the average rate, and, as we would expect, they reply to messages similarly.
  • racism is alive and well. It would be awesome if the other major online dating players would go out on a limb and release their own race data, too. I can’t imagine they will: multi-million dollar enterprises rarely like to admit that the people paying them those millions act like turds.
