Poor audio; blasted many times. Somewhat poor video. I also felt like she was a little condescending, like she was talking to me like I was a little kid. This way of doing vibrato is also very unnatural and can make the voice really tired really quickly.
The point of this video is to teach the viewer how to play the chorus of "Call Me Maybe," but the person who made the video does a terrible job. He plays with very poor technique, and his explanation of how to play the song is confusing. When naming the notes used in the song, he continually says the wrong note names, and he even names the violin strings incorrectly. To top it off, when he actually plays the chorus, he plays entirely wrong notes.
She correctly explains how to tune a violin, but the video is extremely lengthy and she has a tendency to over-explain. In my opinion, a 15 minute video is not required to teach someone how to tune a violin. Also, the poor audio quality is somewhat annoying.
His explanation of bow hold is clear and he uses analogies that are very appropriate for young violinists to help them understand the shape of the hand. I also like that he teaches bow hold on a pencil and emphasizes that the hand should feel relaxed and natural.
