    So far, the end of a sun-like star was regarded as a fairly simple process: The star gets rid of dignified a shell glowing gas and then settles down to a long retirement as a burned-out white dwarf.
    But now several astronomers team published a beautiful collection of detailed pictures that have come with the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA concluded. The views reveal surprisingly intricate patterns woven into space of aging stars: wheels of fire, sprinkler-like beams, graceful cup shapes and even some that look like the jet of a rocket motor.

    "This fearsome fireworks provides a preview of the final stage of our own sun," says Bruce Balick of the University of Washington in Seattle. The outbreaks are more than just a stellar "Light Show". At the core of the star are heavier elements - mainly carbon - produced and then thrown into the interstellar medium, as a raw material for future generations of stars ...
