It's called "the summer brain drain" because during those long, hot months away from school, kids supposedly forget a lot of what they had learned in class. Research, however, tells a more nuanced story: Some learning is lost among some groups, and others gain. What do you guys think?? Does "Summer Brain Drain" truly exist or is it just a myth??

Attached is a little "blurb" about Social Stories and how they can effectively teach children proper social behaviors. As we discussed in Friday's meeting, using these stories in the classroom may serve as an effective tool to teach students lessons on sharing, being polite, and interacting appropriately with one another.

Interesting Article on why many parents in NY are opposed to Common Core and the testing that goes along with it. It mentions how the common core can often be developmentally inappropriate and I couldn't agree more!
