    The Petrified Forest Park is in Tak Province, Northern Thailand, and boasts the longest Tree Fossil in the World. This tree fossil is 72.2 metres long. The petrified tree fossil was discovered along with many others after an aerial survey of the area. The petrified tree trunks found in the Petrified Forest Park were covered up by rock sediments formed about 2 million years ago in the Quaternary period. So far about 50 specimens have been discovered in a 35 Sq Km area.
