  •
shapeless is an exploration of generic (aka polytypic) programming in Scala derived from the various talks I've given over the course of 2011 on implementing scrap your boilerplate and higher rank polymorphism in Scala.

What does Monad mean? - 0 views

  •
"The monad concept will be presented to an audience with the assumption of knowledge of the generics concept of either the Java or C# programming languages or some other form of parametric polymorphism. The concept will be presented in a way with the objective of supplying enough understanding to apply the practical implications and will not address the underlying mathematics or category theory."

Functional Dependencies in Scala | Chuusai - 0 views

  •
Functional dependencies are a near-standard extension to Haskell (present in GHC and elsewhere) which allow constraints on the type parameters of type classes to be expressed and then enforced by the compiler.

CopyFS - 1 views

  •
CopyFS aims to solve a common problem : given a directory, especially one full of configuration files, or other files that one can modify, and which can affect the functionning of a system, or of programs, that may be important to other users (or to the user himself), how to be sure that a person modifying the files will do a backup of the working version first ? This filesystem solves the problem by making the whole process transparent, automatically keeping versionned copies of all the changes done to file under its control. It also allows a user to select an old version of the files, for example to repair a mistake, and allows him/her to continue edition from this point.

It can execute Hive QL queries up to 100 times faster than Hive without any modification to the existing data or queries. Shark supports Hive's query language, metastore, serialization formats, and user-defined functions, providing seamless integration with existing Hive deployments and a familiar, more powerful option for new ones."

Rapture I/O - 1 views

  •
"Rapture I/O is a fledgling library for Scala which provides a consistent, intuitive and extensible API for handling common I/O operations, such as sending HTTP requests and streaming data between files, URLs and sockets. Rapture I/O offers the functionality of java.io, but unifies its features into simpler, more coherent and higher-level concepts, allowing tasks which once took several lines of code to be often accomplished in just one, taking full advantage of Scala's rich syntax."

GravityLabs/HPaste - 0 views

  •
"HPaste unlocks the rich functionality of HBase for a Scala audience. In so doing, it attempts to achieve the following goals: Provide a strong, clear syntax for querying and filtration Perform as fast as possible while maintaining idiomatic Scala client code -- the abstractions should not show up in a profiler! Re-articulate HBase's data structures rather than force it into an ORM-style atmosphere. A rich set of base classes for writing MapReduce jobs in hadoop against HBase tables. Provide a maximum amount of code re-use between general Hbase client usage, and operation from within a MapReduce job. Use Scala's type system to its advantage--the compiler should verify the integrity of the schema. Be a verbose DSL--minimize boilerplate code, but be human readable!"

  •
"URI.js is a javascript library for working with URLs. It offers a "jQuery-style" API (Fluent Interface, Method Chaining) to read and write all regular components and a number of convenience methods like .directory() and .authority(). URI.js offers simple, yet powerful ways of working with query string, has a number of URI-normalization functions and converts relative/absolute paths. While URI.js provides a jQuery plugin. URI.js itself does not rely on jQuery. You don't need jQuery to use URI.js"

Hola!. Buen finde.
