The HDF Group - Why use HDF? - 0 views

  •
"HDF (Hierarchical Data Format) technologies are relevant when the data challenges being faced push the limits of what can be addressed by traditional database systems, XML documents, or in-house data formats. Leveraging the powerful HDF products and the expertise of The HDF Group, organizations realize substantial cost savings while solving challenges that seemed intractable using other data management technologies. Many HDF adopters have very large datasets, very fast access requirements, or very complex datasets. Others turn to HDF because it allows them to easily share data across a wide variety of computational platforms using applications written in different programming languages. Some use HDF to take advantage of the many open-source and commercial tools that understand HDF. Similar to XML documents, HDF files are self-describing and allow users to specify complex data relationships and dependencies. In contrast to XML documents, HDF files can contain binary data (in many representations) and allow direct access to parts of the file without first parsing the entire contents. HDF, not surprisingly, allows hierarchical data objects to be expressed in a very natural manner, in contrast to the tables of relational database. Whereas relational databases support tables, HDF supports n-dimensional datasets and each element in the dataset may itself be a complex object. Relational databases offer excellent support for queries based on field matching, but are not well-suited for sequentially processing all records in the database or for subsetting the data based on coordinate-style lookup."

FSArchiver - 0 views

FSArchiver is a system tool that allows you to save the contents of a file-system to a compressed archive file. The file-system can be restored on a partition which has a different size and it can be restored on a different file-system. Unlike tar/dar, FSArchiver also creates the file-system when it extracts the data to partitions. Everything is checksummed in the archive in order to protect the data. If the archive is corrupt, you just loose the current file, not the whole archive.

"In Forrester's 40-criteria evaluation of application programming interface (API) management solutions, we identified the 11 most significant software providers in the category - 3scale, Apigee, Axway, CA Technologies, IBM, Informatica, Intel Services, MuleSoft, SOA Software, Tibco Software, and WSO2 - and researched, analyzed, and evaluated them. This report details our findings about how well each vendor's products fulfill our criteria and where they stand in relation to each other. This analysis, combined with three buying guides that highlight key make-or-break decision factors, will help AD&D professionals select the right partner for their API management needs."

pipe - Unix-like pipelines for Go - 1 views

  •
"The pipe Go package offers an easy way for Go programs to make use of other applications available in the system via a Unix-like pipeline mechanism. The input and output streams in such pipelines do work as streams, so large content can go across the pipeline without being loaded entirely in memory."

The ImageTerrier Master Project - - 0 views

  •
"ImageTerrier is an open-source, scalable, high-performance search engine platform for content-based image retrieval applications. The ImageTerrier platform provides a comprehensive test-bed for experimenting with image retrieval techniques. The platform incorporates a state-of-the-art implementation of the single-pass indexing technique for constructing inverted indexes and is capable of producing highly compressed index data structures. ImageTerrier is written as an extension to the open-source Terrier test-bed platform for textual information retrieval research."

"Windsurf is a general framework for efficiently processing content-based image queries. With particular emphasis to the region-based paradigm, Windsurf provides an environment where different alternatives of the paradigm can be implemented. This allows such implementations to be compared on a fair basis, from the points of view of both effectiveness and efficiency."

diegobernardes/flare: Flare is a service that notify changes of HTTP endpoints - 0 views

  •
"Flare is a service that listen to changes on HTTP endpoints and notify subscripted clients about the changes. It help reduce the pressure on APIs by avoiding the clients to do pooling requests to search for new/changed content and the need of the APIs to develop workers to notify the clients"
