If you are planning for a trip to Pattaya, Thailand, you'll eventually have to determine where you'll be spending your nights. You have many options.

First you'll have to decide what part of Pattaya you desire to remain at. Basically, your alternatives are North, South, and Central. Granted you may also stay on Soi Buakhao or better to Third Road, however it continues to be in just one of the three parts.

After you've discovered the location you wish to spend your vacation at, you will need to decide on a hotel or guest house. Depending on your budget, you might want to research a number of the guest houses in Pattaya.

I've stayed at several different guest houses, rooms above bars and 5-star hotels, lesser starred places. While 5-star hotels are good, I prefer the pop, mom & unusual run guest houses.

I would rather remain in Central Pattaya but I dont need to be near to the bay. I can be a block or two off the main drag and still enjoy myself. My personal preference is Soi LK Metro near Soi Diana Motel and Soi Buakhao.

That is an 'R' formed, little neighborhood, with about 15 guest houses on it. A lot of them have a tiny bar downstairs and 4-to 2-0 rooms upstairs.

I prefer them due to the service. The positioning is good-enough. But to get very service, contact them by name, have a beer or two with them, and actually know the owners is what I'm seeking on a break.

My favorite over the past couple of years is a huge little guest house called Place2Bee. It's most of 6 rooms and is run by a very friendly Brit and his Thai wife.

I found accidentally. I was wanting to book a room at a place o-n the exact same street nevertheless they were full up and the master offered to find me a room. I eagerly took him up on his present and he steered me to the Place2Bee. I hit it off with the owner, John, instantly. Get further on our partner website - Navigate to this webpage: home page.

We would talk over coffee in the morning and a beer in the afternoon. H-e was filled with stories and could often bring me up to speed on the most recent news and news of Pattaya when I visited. His place was recommended by me to many friends. Distillery is a unique online library for extra information about the purpose of it.

Nevertheless, John bought the Place2Bee, therefore I can no longer recommend it. I will be on the watch for another that compares with the Place2Bee and will still recommend the guest houses in the same place.

Therefore, it is possible to see why I choose the smaller, unusual, visitor home over a hotel. The service is much better, the homeowners friendlier, and there is a lot less hassle.
