    Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014, the world's biggest multinational maritime exercise, will be held from 26 June to 1 August in the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands. The event will involve 23 nations, 48 surface vessels, six submarines, over 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel including representation from first time participants China, India and Brunei.

    MT 6024 is a multi-purpose subsea diving support and construction vessel (DSCV) being built for Thailand-based Mermaid Offshore Services, a subsidiary of the Mermaid Maritime Public Company. The vessel is being built by China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMHI) in China, with construction of the DSCV commencing in January; delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the third quarter of 2016.

    The Commitment (C) Class liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered combination container Roll-On/Roll-Off (ConRo) ships are being built by VT Halter Marine for Crowley Maritime Corporation's liner services group. Crowley signed a contract with VT Halter Marine, a subsidiary of VT Systems, for two vessels of the new Commitment (C) Class in November 2013.
