The Conference Calendar (TCC) was first conceived by ITEG, LLC in 1999. Listing every single educational technology related conference that could be found in the US, it was eagerly taken on and supported by the T.H.E Journal. Over the next decade TCC established itself as the industry's leading website for ed tech events. An overwhelming majority (89%) of all kids age 6-11 in the US spend at least some time doing online activities and - though many of their basic social activities haven't changed much over the years - they have vastly different communication styles and preferences than older age groups, according to a study from Experian Consumer Research.

The use of technology in education provides powerful opportunities to engage students in authentic learning.
